Reading with Mayo County Council Writer in Residence 2015

Mayo County Council Arts Office is delighted to work with John F. Deane as this year’s Writer in Residence. As part of his work as this year’s resident John F. Deane will be giving a public reading of his poetry in Custom House Studios and Gallery, Westport Quay on Wednesday October 21st at 7.30pm. This is a free event and all are welcome. Ardnaree Sarsfields Junior County Champions

The long wait from 1971 is over. Ardnaree Sarsfields GAA are the new Junior County Champions.  A comprehensive defeat over Killala GAA at MacHale Park, Castlebar this Sunday afternoon saw them lift the cup. The team began today’s final as favourite’s ahead of Killala and the final score of 6-14 to 0-07 confirmed the odds. Surf And Turf Run 2015

Following on from last year’s hugely successful event, Enniscrone is getting ready to host what is fast becoming the most enjoyable athletics event in the region. The second annual Enniscrone Surf and Turf Fun Run will take place on Saturday, October 24th (the October Bank Holiday weekend) at 12 noon.
